Goth on a Budget: Thrifting

Don't be one of those "Ewwww used clothes!" people. Or an elitists who can only shell out money for name brand clothing. Of course if you've clicked on this post, you most likely are not. But if you are apprehensive about thrift shopping just remember, you can get great deals, there are always extra % off sales and there are some great opportunities to find diamonds in the rough.

I will be sharing a few of my Goth haul's in which I share some of the lovely gothy items I snatched up for cheap! Remember Halloween is your friend. It's the only time of year that caters to your gothy needs, likes and wants. Great time to go hit the thrift and dollar stores to find creepy and cool stuff to decorate with all year round.
There are so many great pieces out there to be had to add to your wardrobe or decor and the best part of thrifting is they're not only cheap but unique as well. Here are some tips for virgin thrifters:

Go with a friend who thrifts often, they'll know how to initiate you and where to find the good stores.

Take only a certain amount of money with you. Thrifting can be addictive, just cause it's cheap doesn't mean you can't over spend!

Be sure to take cash just in case. Some smaller thrift shops may only accept cash and no debit or credit.

Wash the clothes you buy. I always do this just cause...I like clean clothes and you never know. It's no only a cleanliness thing but it makes you feel like you have new clothing.

There is another great option, thrifty type option which I just recently discovered. Gwynnie Bee.com is a site where you can rent some awesome designer clothing. Sizes 10-32!! They send you the clothes in 2-3 days (free shipping) you get to wear them as long as you want and as soon as you send them back (again free shipping) they send you more from your virtual closet. There aren't a whole lot of clothes that you'd consider "gothy" on there but there are a lot of items that you could dress up to look gothy and have a lot of fun with.
