Help Black Friday Acheive Her Traveling Dreams!

Miss Black Friday is one of my favorite Youtubers as well as she should be yours, subscribe because she is beautiful, sweet, funny and amazingly awesome! She is one of my Goth idols. She recently made a video seeking help to accomplish a couple of her dreams. She has two dreams; to go to the Goth Festival in Germany (Wave-Gotik-Treffen) and to Bat's Day at Disneyland CA. Bat's Day sounds awesome, I'd love to go! Black Friday not only has the desire to travel but she also wants to meet some of her online friends/fans in Europe as well as America. I think that would be an amazing experience to meet her, and Mr. Owl if he were able to go as well. But alas I am poor so I will not be able to, but I want to support her efforts in trying to raise money to go and wish the best for anyone who get's to meet her. She'll tell you more about it in this video.

Here is some of her info, including her Website, Kickstarter and Patreon

Back to my old Gothy, Thrifty Self!

So I am back! I have been quite busy these days because I did obtain a job, briefly as it was, graveyard shift that killed me in more ways then one. Let's just say I'd rather spend the night in a real graveyard then do that all over again. So for a while there was really nothing to report, just plain boring me, but I am still looking for work. For now am back to my old self and that makes me much happier.

Yay!

So I'm back to thrifting, (when I have the money),  going for walks in the park and cemetery hopping as well. Check out my latest Cemetery Walk.

I loved wearing my cape @ the park and cemetery!

I've been finding a few great finds here and there like this Betsyville purse
Only $2.99! I was shocked!
You can find great deals elsewhere, not just at thriftstores. I've been kind of obsessed with Ever After High and Monster High dolls lately, so when I had some extra cash to treat myself, I went on a thrifty hunt for them. Those dolls can get quite pricey at 20 to 30 bucks a pop. Of course I'M not gonna pay that much so I headed to Tuesday Morning and found great prices on them! I was able to get 2 dolls for the price of one! They have them for $10.99 and $12.99 and places like Ross are also selling them for around the same prices.
I've also become obsessed with Raven Queen, whom I got for Christmas, I believe she was even bought at a discounted price from Grocery Outlet.

Other places to find cheap or free treasures is at the library. Yep, who'd have thought eh? Some libraries have book and media sales with reasonably priced items as well as sections with books and/or magazines that are free for the taking! I recently picked up a Labyrinth DVD for a buck! I also got this cute little book, cause I love Halloween (and I love Clifford as well, lol)
It's surprising what you can find for cheap when you really look, and sometimes you just get lucky, like when I found this guy for $1.29 at Goodwill!
My diamond in the rough find. Herman Munster!!

Speaking of Goodwill, this past weekend they had an awesome BOGO sale on all donated items! Here's some stuff I found

Oops my ignorance and absence!

Unfortunately although I love many things, I can be clueless to their origins, history or any other facts about them. I suppose I should make a practice and being better educated about such things. If it weren't for the myriad of of Instagram posts about Edgar Allen Poe's Birthday this past Monday, January 19th, I would have never known. I am a Poe fan but I did not know this, so now I know. So happy Belated Birthday to the father of insanity and horror!

Now...about my absence...no excuses really, just nothing to blog about and I have been somewhat otherwise occupied living out of a backpack here and there. But mostly I've been broke. This Goth on a budget is busted. I make do with what I have though, and I continue to decorate my room, and self Gothy.  This is my current bed situation....

As I've said before, when all else fails and you can't afford it, make it! The 2 pillows on my bed are homemade, the bat one and the skeleton one (behind the Minion). I thrifted this little adorable skeleton Minion for 99 cents and got his fantastic Mad Hatter Blanket for $2.99 (which had a tear but was an easy fix). I received some nice gothy gifts for Christmas as well, including this VERY awesome and lovely bat jewelry box from my Ugo.

As well as this Raven Queen Doll whom I adore

I'm currently seeking employment and so hopefully soon my goth budgety situation won't be so dire...but well ya know that thing called life get's in the way and I have a lot of other stuff to take care of. Thrifting and finding great bargains on the goth clothing and things I love will never fade, I just have to take it in strides when I can afford it now.

Weird Stuff

Hey, do you ever have those nights where you rabbit hole on the internet? By rabbit hole, I mean you start off searching one subject and keep finding others to click on, it can be incredibly insane, addictive and interesting! Tonight I was looking at this lovely book I obtained at  the library.

This lead me to looking up fairy tale artists such as Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. I found Dulac's art on Pinterest and found this beautiful peice

Edmund Dulac “Abysm of Time”

So of course I had to add a Fairy Tale board to my other 66 boards on my Pinterest site. (lol yes...I know I have a problem) Upon searching faiy tales on Pinterest I came across something quite odd and my morbid curiosity got the best of me.I'll let you click here needless to say, it's creepy eh? I clicked on the site the image was linked to (See where this rabbit hole thing is going?) And fell down further to find this morbidly intriguing site!

If you have a sense of morbid curiosity, such as myself, go ahead and click on it...I dare ya!
Enjoy!

Halloween Clearance makes a Goth on a Budget very happy!

I know I haven't been been updating here, terrible me. Life has gotten in the way, or lack there of one. My days have been up and down and all over the place! But I find time to make a video or two and enjoy some after Halloween Shopping...Halloween Clearance is a wonderful thing! As I mentioned earlier in this vlog, Halloween is the BEST time to collect Gothy things for your home as well as pieces for your wardrobe. I'm not above using Halloween costumes as gothy outfits. I know that Goth elitists would most likely turn their nose up at that, but I don't care! It's what I can afford, and what I like! Goth on a Budget right?!  One thing I hoped to obtain after Halloween was a hooded cloak. I was feeling as though that was a lost cause for a while, as I scoured the thrift store racks after Halloween. So many stores put their Halloween merchandise away and it was so sad! Yesterday though, I was able to fine one though! There it was at Kmart, of all places, a black, crushed velvet looking cloak with a hood, $24.99 and 75% off! So it came to $6.25....Goth on a Budget SCORE!!

I'm so excited!! It's cozy!! (more photos later)

Here are some of my Halloween Clearance finds and Halloween Socks I've found this year.

My lovely new bat necklace found or $1.43!

Not really Halloween persay, but way awesome!

Long Live Halloween!

I just want to gripe for a minute about how fast stores are shutting down the holidays. You put items out so early and then take them away early and go on to the next holiday. Halloween was here and there was some great stuff in the stores and now, 3 days after the 31st stores are tearing down Halloween! This is quite sad indeed. Even neighbors are taking down their decorations.  I have to admit, I'm a lingerer. I hold onto the holidays as much as I can. It makes me sad when there is nothing to look forward to or to look at to make me smile. So long live Halloween! I will enjoy it always, and live it each day!
